A WordPress site is two things: a folder of files and a set of database tables. The migration package carries both, with a few exceptions that keep the new copy clean and safe.
What is moved
- Every file of the WordPress folder: themes, plugins, uploads and the WordPress core.
- The database tables that use the site table prefix, exported in small batches in a format compatible with
mysqldump.
What stays behind
- Cache folders and archives created by other backup plugins.
- The original
wp-config.php, which holds the old database password and security keys. - Symbolic links and files PHP cannot read. The check tells you how many there are.
- Email accounts.
Why wp-config.php is rebuilt
The new server has its own database, with its own user and password. Instead of copying the old file, BladeCP writes a new wp-config.php with the new credentials and fresh security keys. Your database password is never sent. Custom settings you added to the old file must be added again.

The plugin keeps its own data out
The migrator leaves its own settings out of the database export, so the connection key never travels with the site. The package is built in a protected folder inside wp-content/uploads and deleted after BladeCP confirms the upload.
